Burst

Hullo there! I’m setting this up as a place to share poetry and / or comics work and news, and I hope you’ll join me.

I’m a poet and comic book writer. My work includes Bear and Low from Bloodaxe Books (“The best new poetry that you will read this year.”—Alan Moore), Golden Rage from Image Comics, and Over the Line: An Introduction to Poetry Comics from Sidekick Books. I also edited the NYT bestselling comics The Wicked + The Divine and Die.

Burst

​I was rolled into my own body
and shaken out over the Thames
where the cold updraught found me
and I came apart like a new year
like a ream of pages relieved
from an unopened Russian novel
and I burst like blossom into the air
